Looking Back; The First Five Years                 (9/13/2016)


Today Family Promise offers Rotational Emergency Housing, 3 Transitional Housing Apartments, an After Care Program to assist our families in their transition to independent housing, a Supportive Housing program, Mentoring Program, Homelessness Prevention Services, Monthly Skill Building Workshops open to the public, a Family Promise Alumni, and new this year, in a collaborative partnership with other local agencies and individual;  our Men’s Resource Center and Seasonal Warming Center. Family Promise of Green County is a partner with; and receives funding from the United Way of Green County.


In 2016 YTD we have provided:

  • Emergency Housing/Shelter to 14 Families.      (15 Adults/25 Children)

  • After Care Services to 3 families.

  • Transitional Apartment Services to 5 families.

  • Homelessness Prevention Services to 18 families. (24 Adults/33 Children)

  • Our Graduation Rate is currently at 81% and of those graduates; we continue to maintain a high success rate of 90 % successfully maintaining their homes after 6 months.

  • The average length of stay in our shelter program is currently 67 days.

  • Partnered with other local agencies and individuals to provide emergency shelter and other supportive services to 9 single homeless men.

  • Provided 3 Skill Building Work Shops for the general public. (Budgeting, Resume Writing, Preparing for a Job Interview)

  • Assumed the role as facilitator for the "Rent Smart Training and Parenting Classes" to the general public.


Since our start-up in November 2011:

Family Promise of Green County has provided services to 121 local families, a total of 311 people through our programs; this number includes 161 children.
